Just got diagnosed, a bit clueless
Hey, I actually got diagnosed with PCOS like a week ago and I pretty much spent that week researching about it and just digesting the info that was told. I'm 17 years old and I'm worried about this condition quite a lot since I heard it affects fertility, and I really do want a famiy in the future :(
I have however noticed that many women who struggle with PCOS struggle with weight loss/weight gain. I don't know if it varies person to person but my BMI is alright? Nor I experience excessive hair growth (more like I get excessive hair LOSS) so that also confuses me a bit.
My GP wasn't the most helpful person, he just said "keep on a diet and lose weight" but it's so VAGUE it seems like he didn't really care at all. I ended up researching around a bit and heard that inositol, vitamin D and Magnesium are all really good supplements but I'm not sure if I can afford them regularly, plus I'm south asian, so my diet is literally rice rice rice rice everyday and I'm pretty sure it's not really good for me so I'm not sure how to manage that either (since I can't just "refuse" to eat the food my mum makes)
Also, apart from PCOS, my blood tests showed that I have pretty high prolactin as well (I had no idea what that even was) and they referred me for a second blood test + a brain scan, not sure if it's related but apparently it is?
I'm not sure what else I could do to help myself, and some help would be appreciated!
