Couple of shots of my BCPD
Hey Folks,
Wanted to share a few of my favorite shots of my 40mm BCPD. If I had to guess, I'd say I've had it for 6 months now. It's arguably a bit too large for my wrist, but sometimes you love a piece so much that you look past shortcomings. This shade of blue has always been my favorite color, and there was no way I was going to pay more for a Cervo in a different dial color. I love looking down at the dial and wondering what shade it's going to be. The lighting of a room dramatically changes the dial from a powder blue, to ash blue, to a deep slate. I'm always on my toes. The finishing on the hands is stunning. It's always a rush of dopamine when the mirror finish on the cathedral hour hand reflects the shade of my skin.
In my humble opinion, the BCPD is the lowest cost of entry to a Swiss piece with true horological significance. I firmly believe the pointer date complication is for guys that desperately want a fourth hand, but have no practical use for a GMT. Sure, maybe it has a humble Sw200, but I've got a design that originated in 1938 that comes from an independent brand. Plus, the watch industry has done a good job of branding all these mass produced movements as "workhorses," which makes me feel like rugged, blue collar man. Ignore the smooth, callous free palms.
If I didn't have a strict one watch per brand policy, an Aquis would be next on my list. Cheers, fellas.
