Election Results if not voting was a candidate in each riding

Given the record-low turnout of the election, I thought it would be interesting to see the results if abstention was a party. Sure enough, not voting would have won in a 52-seat landslide. Only Argyle, Clare, and Richmond were able to beat the election apathy and elect a candidate with enough votes to outnumber those who stayed home from the polls.

Interestingly, these three districts are part of the protected minority riding group that was reinstated in 2021. This means that they all have much fewer registered voters than the average riding. This low voter count paired with relatively high turnout compared to the rest of the province is the main reason why they are the only three districts to beat abstention this election.
