Question about using the labels girlfriend and wife whilst being non-binary (they/them)
Hey everyone! I'm wondering if any they/thems like to be referred to as their partner's girlfriend or wife (if married)? It's something that has been coming up for me in previous relationships which I have found a little confusing, as I don't identify with womanhood or femininity.
Whenever I've been with a partner (who is usually perceived as more masculine than me) I started noticing that I liked the idea of being called their girlfriend/wife if it got to marriage stage. It just feels good. Does anyone else here resonate with this?
Edit: I still love + prefer the neutrality of being called someone's 'partner' but I guess im curious about fucking with the assumed gendered label of girlfriend/wife
Edit 2: I'm talking strictly about relationships with non-binary, queer folk only btw! No straights in sight.
