My child's school is recognizing down syndrome day on Friday by wearing odd socks

Ok. Like the title says, my child's school is recognizing down syndrome day on Friday but they want to recognize it by wearing odd socks. I don't know why but I feel like this is bugging me for some reason..? Am I being weird about it?
