How long does it take to find “the one”?

Downloaded last night, stayed up way too late playing. Love it so far!! Only have a couple planets unlocked. Do I build a base on each? Pack up my starship and explore the stars? Or can I find an earth-like and build a nice home base? How long did it take for you to find a main base? 😊 EDIT: thank y’all for responding, I love the mentality! I’m definitely going to be doing a lot of exploring, but if I can have a freighter follow me around, no need for an elaborate base until my days of adventuring are behind me 😊
