Getting back into photography
Hi, years and years ago I went to film school (didn't know what I really wanted to do out of high school) and found it wasn't for me. I've always had an interest in cinema/photography/etc but never had the technical skill or drive to pursue it further (my skills at the time was more suited for the producer/planning aspects of film and I now work in workforce planning).
Recently, I've been tinkering with my D5100 and took some photos of my cat sleeping. I also had a crack at colour grading it. I'm somewhat content with the colour grade, but I'm not overly content with the quality of the photo. I'm definately not happy with the framing - can't put my finger on what I don't like about it though. I'd appreciate some feedback to some questions if anyone would spare the time.
- Is the colour grade going too far with the orange?
- Is the photo out of focus? I'm fairly certain it's in focus (I aimed for the nose). Maybe I should have opened up the aperture to increase the depth of field?
I'm by no means a pro, or even an amatuer, but again I'd appreciate any feedback and help, thank you :)
