Manual focus shooter, best body- D700, Df, Zf?

I’m a causal shooting that enjoys MF lens for street photography and family pics. I use mostly a D700 and 35 1.4 AIS, some times a 85 1.8D AF.

I prefer large aperture, colors and character over clinical edge to edge sharpness.

I’m looking to upgrade my body mostly because I find the d700 a bit heavy to carry around all day even with just a prime lens.

I’m looking at the Df or the Zf. I have not handled a Df but on paper it looks like the perfect MF only body upgrade from the D700. I have handled the Zf. It was compact, light, and the manual focus aids were remarkable. I could nail focus every time. The EVF viewfinder actually didn’t suck but I don’t know how I would like it for long periods. My hands immediately felt sore from the poor ergonomics. The lens compatibility sucks as you have to use a mount for F lenses and you don’t get all the manual focus aids on AIS lens.

If I go Df, I think I get a lighter body, great viewfinder, good looks- a minor upgrade. If I get the Df, what do I do with the D700? Feels redundant but I love the D700 and it’s not worth much anyways.

If I go Zf, I’d get the voitglander 40 1.2 MF. Great setup but most expensive and totally redundant with my existing gear.

Or I could say screw it, keep my d700 and just go looking for another fun prime. I might actually go for a 35 1.4 AF g lens. Then have a heavy AF combo and a lighter MF combo, both at 35.

D700, Df, Zf - what do you guys think? Especially if you’ve made a similar transition.
