The Rotation Needs an Ace

Anyone else confused why we haven’t been seriously connected to Corbin Burnes? I like the Montas and Holmes deals for the mid-back end of the rotation, but we need more October ready pitchers. We need to maximize this five-year window where Lindor (31-35), Nimmo (32-36), (hopefully) Alonso (30-34) are still top tier players.

Enter Corbin Burnes. He’s got the Stearns connection. He’s durable. He’s second to Zack Wheeler in pitcher fWAR over the last four years. He’s an ace. And he’s only going to cost money, which we have. This should be straightforward.
