What really happens to religious minority?
Recently(but not really recent tho), Iranian father and son who converted to catholic has claimed refugee status in my country.
And also there was an Iranian guy at my university who converted to protestant. He secretly attend to a church and doesn't even accept help from others so that his religion status doesn't get exposed.(He claimed he'll get punished)
Also looking back into the past, when I was living in another country as a teeager, there was an Iranian boy at my school who said he'd actually get severe punishment since he is minority muslim(either one of Shia or sunni if i remember?)
But at the same time, in the same country, there was an Iranian guy who was married to a lady from my country and they were both Christians who sometimes visit Iran and came back just fine.
Now, there's an Iranian celebrity working in my country and I'm not sure about her religious status but she doesn't wear hijab with her parents acceptance in iran.
There's also a famous neutralized citizen from iran who made it big in my country with nothing. I'm also not sure about his religious status but he drinks alcohol and eats pork a lot.
I'm really interested in Iranian culture and spirit but sometimes it's confusing. But when i was living in 'the another country', Iranian people mostly have strong energy and personality who won't tolerate any kind of bs and injustice.(esp, girls at my school)
Their confidence was really great.
So back to the question, what do religious minorities usually face in the Iranian society? Legal-wise and people-wise.
Thanks in advance!!😄
