Extreme difficulty questing after patch

For some background, I am a veteran MMO player, I recently took a break from WoW to come over here and was enjoying levelling up my SW prior to mod16. I am one of those who was cautiously optimistic, however, since the patch I can't even fight normal world enemies. I can do passably in dungeons but still feel incredibly weak. I am sure I am doing something wrong as I haven't seen others with this issue. But I was doing absolutely fine prior to the patch and now questing makes me chug potions, kite, and still not always come out on top.
