Hot take - Rock Lee was basically scrapped after the chunin exams
I just watched Naruto for the first time as an adult after growing up watching all types of anime since I was 12. I got to watch it in full without the nostalgia hijack, and came to realize that rock lees potential was killed after the chunin exams.
I can tell you how many times that rock lee vs gaara clip has gone viral on Twitter which made me excited to grow with this character in naruto, only to see his literal only highlight moments are drunkin fist and the chunin exam battle. Though those moments are probably top 10 moments in the entire series… there was so much more I wanted to see.
Like where’s rock Lee’s 7th gate opening reveal fight in the 4th great ninja war?!?! Where’s lee’s final fight with neji?!?! Where’s Lee’s love interest that finally replaces his crush on sakura?!?!
So much potential and the only real times we get to see him are in the original Naruto series. What y’all think?
