Nail brush just died bro

I’m a beginner at gel nail polish and nail design but so far it’s been going smoothly, however, I’ve been using a small brush to make French tips and hearts, only used with gel polish and cleaned with non-acetone nail polish remover. Anywho, I used the brush very little and, while dipping it in the nail polish remover to switch in between colors, I lifted the brush and the bristles were literally just… gone?? I’m not sure if I did anything wrong, looking at the bottle cap I had the polish remover on was clear of any bristles so it literally disintegrated. And I’m seconds, too. Is my care for it out of place or something?
