The Future of NBA 2K

With NBA 2K26 and GTA 6 projected to come out around the same time frame, do you guys believe that 2K will put more effort into every aspect of the game compared to the previous recent years? I believe that if 2K26 isn't better than 2K25 then they will lose a huge portion of their consistent player base and those players will be on GTA 6 since they've been waiting for it for so long and would rather play that than a half-finished game made with very little care or attention to detail. I know it's not a make or break situation because at the end of the day people want to be in the shoes of an NBA player (2K is the only modern basketball game), but still a lot is at stake in terms of people buying and playing the game in my opinion.
