Songs disappearing from the internet completely

There are certain songs that literally disappeared from the internet. I've tried every single search engine and music sites, but I had no luck at all. Could the author somehow blocked all of his content and existence from the internet? There seems to be NO SIGN of his past on the internet. Even if he copyrighted all his content and then removed his own "links" would his music completely disappear from all media over the internet?
