Natalizumab / Tysabri
Please help. I have recently been diagnosed with relapsing remitting MS. 39F. I also have Crohn’s disease which is flaring (diagnosed in 2013). My neurologist and gastroenterologist have discussed my case and decided I should start taking Natalizumab (Tysabri) but it can cause a brain infection called PML, which can be fatal. I am terrified to say yes to this drug as I seem to be that patient who gets all the side effects. Even my MS is thought to have been induced by injecting Adalimumab (Humira) for my Crohn’s. I have previously been hospitalised for symptoms similar to pancreatitis twice after taking both Azathioprine and 6-Mercaptopurine. Therefore, seemingly, I do not respond well to treatment.
- Has anyone with MS also got Crohn’s?
- Has anyone been on Tysabri?
- How have you found the infusions and how has your body responded?
- If you have any evidence, both anecdotal or research based please tell all.
Thank you 🙏🏼
