What's the best famous, established movie franchises?

Looking for the household name kind of movie franchises that everybody would know and has iconic characters like Jack Sparrow for example as I really haven't watched a lot of them and am just starting to watch more movies recently

For example PoTC, Star Wars, Marvel, John Wick, Jurassic World, Hunger Games, Terminator, The Purge, Top Gun, just stuff like that
