What’s the common etiquette for joining an SOS flair?

I’m a hammer main and I do nothing else but BoINK monsters. I’ve been practicing with this thunder Ray Ban dragon because I wanna be able to execute offset perfectly as it’s what a hammer user should do.

So I join SOS flairs to hunt all the Ray Ban and sometimes I don’t know what I should be doing.

You might match with a person who’s relatively a newbie and still doing story quest, and it might be their first time fighting him. If I swoop in and whop ass, is it gonna ruin their experience? Am I taking away their MH journey? How am I supposed to know whether my teammate wanna capture it or kill it? Am I doing too much or am I not doing enough to help? I’m so confused.

How did you guys do SOS flair back in previous version like world/rise? It’s my first MH game.
