Freecam Pictures & Interesting Details Of Wyveria
Was fiddling around with REFramework's Freecam whilst in various biomes, and was able to nab some pictures that help put the place into a greater picture
The 'Iceshard Cliffs' as seen from the Oilwell Basin
The city of Wyveria behind the walls
So the city is basically built atop a mountain, with the front shielded by a great wall (the 'cliffs') and the back protected by the mountains which Suja is built in
I find the pictures of what's beyond the walls to be more interesting, however
All three other locales visible, plus a lot of HUGE craters
More craters to the right of the locales, this time filled with water
The key points; there are two pretty much perfectly circular mountain ridges that encircle Wyveria. They are interrupted at three points by long, straight ravines that look almost like roads, with one of them seemingly connecting the Plains to the Basin
Then there's the craters. They're everywhere, and they're huge. With the Everforge's chimney visible, you can get a good idea of the size of these things. Some of them look like they could fit the entirety of Azuz inside them
What on earth could have inflicted all of this scarring upon the land? We know that Wyveria was under threat of war before their downfall, so perhaps these are the remains of some great battle, where horrifically powerful blasts of artillery pounded the city's outskirts?
Perhaps they're the leftovers of meteor impacts? Zoh Shia appears to barrage its arena with meteors past a certain point in the fight, but it's unclear if they're actually meteors or just burning debris falling from above. And they're nowhere near the scale necessary to leave craters like this. Did we really see its true strength?
Or perhaps these craters were here before Wyveria; maybe they're just a feature of the land. Could it be that the civilisation was built within an enormous crater? The encircling mountain ridges could actually be the fringes of a truly colossal meteor impact, similar to Chicxulub. Maybe Wyveria flourished thanks to materials left behind by such impacts?
I must say, I'm really enjoying Wilds' increased focus on story. Never before have I felt able to chew over the lore like with this game. I'm so interested to think about what else we might learn in the coming months, and in the inevitable Master Rank expansion
