Should Monster Hunter Wilds have proper anti-cheat?
Since the game is cross-platform, with PC and console players hunting together, I’m kind of worried about cheaters. Not saying all PC players are bad, but mods are easier to use on PC, and that could mean people getting endgame gear, unreleased items, or even doing one-shot kills, which would totally ruin the experience for everyone else.
Yeah, I know I could just play solo, but that’s not what a multiplayer game is all about, right? The fun is in teaming up, but if cheaters keep messing things up, it’s frustrating.
Now, I get that if they added something like server-side protection, we might have other issues, like hunts feeling laggy or monsters teleporting around and not moving in real-time. But still, I feel like there has to be a balance between anti-cheat and keeping the game smooth.
What do you think? Should the devs add proper anti-cheat, or is there another way to keep the game fair without causing those server issues?
