Anyone have religious family that thinks MH is EVIL?!

This is gonna be a rollercoaster ride ðŸŽĒ so strap in 😂 Soooo, there's MANY queer elements in Monster High AND "dark themes", magic/witchcraft, celebration of all things deceased, not just acceptance of those who are "different" but CELEBRATION of them FOR being different, NB characters, queer love interests, same-gender parents, etc. Myself being born in the early 90s, I lived through allllll kinds of BS--- parents burning Harry Potter books (and NOT because the author is transphobic 👀), parents claiming SpongeBob is gay (🙄), parents upset about Barbie dolls that come with pregnant bellies out of fear of "teen pregnancy" (fast-forward to today, now they're mad at the Barbie movie for "anti-baby imagery") & so on.....

......but it seems like Monster High has mostly averted this "Angry Christian Mom" problem, even into TODAY where they are all armed with YouTube accounts and Facebook where they can quickly share new things to be angry about. I'm now a mom of a 6 year old, no contact with my own family, but my husband's family is rather close to us.... they're also religious & from the US South. My husband was adopted by his Uncle & Uncle's Husband to get them out of the foster system after they were taken by CPS, but fast forward to NOW a few years back his Uncle suddenly left his husband after claiming God is like, suuuuper not happy about all that gay stuff he did his entire freaking life well into his 60s (he's STILL married to his husband and had no problem spending all his savings 😎).

So, Uncle drives up to visit us every Christmas-- my secret weapon: he claims my Rainbow High dolls are possessed LMAO specifically them, not Bratz or Monster High so this time I put up a big winter-themed display of them in snowsuits having a snowball fight, right smack dab in the middle of livingroom so you can't avoid facing it. It worked, and he stayed in a motel every night and came over during the morning/day :") I am particularly happy about this because I am afraid of touching cotton balls and I had to touch them to make the freaking snow AND a snowman, who my daughter said "Why is he melting already? Why does he look like that Mommy" 💀💀💀 SHHHHHHHH

Fast forward to present giving: 🎁 I explained to him months ago that my daughter LOVES books, she just turned 6 & she's an independent reader, she loves Monster High ESPECIALLY Frankie! He ended up giving her 3 BOOKS........ALL BIBLE STORIES. We are not religious. He even tried making her sit down and read them, luckily before I had to step in she spoke up and said "Do I have to read this if I don't want to?" 😭 I felt so bad for her and so very upset. She's super smart and works hard in school and deserves to have things she actually enjoys , I'm disabled and unemployed and her dad works a minimum wage job so we kinda rely on family helping with at least one or two gifts for her that she will actually like since money is so tight right now. Last year no one even got her anything 😑 so I guess it's uh.. better? Either way, those new books are going away into the attic LMAO.

Does anyone else have experiences with Monster High and religious / insane family members??? I'd love to hear some of your stories!
