Why do people hate on moissanite?

I’m in a couple of ring groups on Facebook and any time someone mentions they’re getting a moissanite, there’s at least one asshole who’s like “you mean cz but more expensive” or “lol just get a diamond, not a diamond knock off, OR!! My absolute FAVORITE, OP ends up getting financially shamed and called poor. It leaves a nasty taste in my mouth. I know that anyone who says those things obviously haven’t done an ounce of research on moissanite, but why people are so legitimately hateful is a wonder to me lol.
