I lose my ability to remain mindful after masturbation/sex. Low self-esteem, social anxiety and depression come on strong.

I wanted to know if anyone could deliver insight on this subject.

I have found mindfulness to be profoundly helpful in reducing ego in myself. The more present I remain, the less fear there is, the less stress there is. It seems like the solution for most of the issues which have plagued me for most of my life.

Immediately after orgasm of any type it seems, my ability to remain mindful disappears and I get caught in thought very strongly. So much so that I fall back into fear, social anxiety and depression and cannot seem to come back to mindfulness.

There are other subreddits where people explain this issue, just not from the stance of mindfulness. POIS (post-orgasm illness syndrome) and nofap to name a few. But they are approaching this issue on the level of physiology which I do not believe is the whole story.

Does anyone have any insight or experience into what might be going on here?
