Pain decreased prior to microdiscectomy

Hi,

First time poster here! I’m scheduled on the December 18th for a microdiscectomy on L3-L4. After going through every treatment imaginable the last few months, my back took a nasty turn a couple weeks ago. I got right into see my surgeon on 11/25 and they got surgery approved within hours. I was so relieved to have it approved and scheduled same year (my OOP is met). But now, the pain has decreased. Still there along with leg symptoms, but the decrease has me wondering if this is normal behavior?
