Unpopular opinion, the Biopic should have ended during the Victory Tour
Ima be honest, I don’t understand why anyone would want to see a 3 hour movie try to fit the entirety of MJ’s 45 year career. That is way too much for one movie, you need at least a TV Series or multiple movies to get it right. Even the Jacksons An American Dream had to adapt their life story in a TV Series format, and even they had to omit important stuff like MJ’s OTW and Thriller era, just to fit the timerun of the series. (We only saw his Motown performance, him in the studio recording one time, and the Pepsi commercial. We did not see the important stuff that led to MJ’s rise to superstardom like meeting Quincy Jones or making the Wiz, or the Grammys or filming his iconic videos or his friendship with Brooke Shields)
I feel like a 45 year career in a 3 hour movie would end up disastrous because there is so much you have to cover and because of the limited timerun, you run the risk of pissing off the fans if you omit stuff just to fit the 3 hour mark. Plus how can you even do the allegations in the same movie too? That alone itself could be a whole other movie. Even the J5 days could be a whole movie itself. I think the recent Bob Dylan Biopic only covered a certain part of his life, not his whole life and it ended up being a really good film. I wish Lionsgate would just turn it into a trilogy. One movie is just not enough, I know many of you might disagree but personally I am pretty worried about this. A Netflix Series would have been way way better for this. Not a great example but look at the Jeffrey Dahmer series on Netflix 💀. Ik not the best example but it’s a still Biopic that covered his life.
Oh yeah and MJ’s appearance post Thriller would be troublesome for the editing / CGI crew. Would’ve made it a lot easier ending it during the Victory Tour so they could save money on the CGI lol. And idk how Jafaar is gonna look like with Vitiligo and the change in appearance with CGI.
