Can a flooded car be fixed?

Hey all. Hoping for some reassurance, or some advice if need be. My 2021 Equinox flooded during a freak thunderstorm- it wasn’t standing in water for more than an hour. When I had it towed to the repair shop so that insurance could check it out, it wouldn’t start, no electrical, no nothing. There was also about an inch of water in the carpet. The insurance company first declared it totaled, then a week later, changed their mind, and is now paying to fix it. Can it actually be fixed? Will it really be good as new (or, pre-flooding) in the longterm? This car was supposed to last me ten years at least, and now I’m pretty upset that it might just be rusted out within a couple, even if we repair it upfront. Would love to hear if it’s truly fixable, or if insurance if just shirking their responsibility. Thank you for the help, y’all!
