It feels good.

It’s coming up on two months of ownership now. We waited years to, it doesn’t sound right to say “pull the plug”. Maybe take the plug? We couldn’t be happier with our first ev. We traded in my only new car I bought, a ‘13 F150 platinum that we almost never used as a truck anymore. Our daily driver was the ‘11 Acadia. Averaged around 15mpg in town.

In 7 weeks we have driven our Mach e 2750 miles dropping kids off at gymnastics and around town trips. I wanted to do the math and finally did last night after a friend asked how much it costs to charge.

2750 miles / (average 4m/kwH) = 687.5kwH

Just added up the charge history and it’s actually 631kwH so it’s really 4.35m/kwH

Electric rates here are $ .054 until June 1 when the jack up to $ .071 so I’ll use $ .056

631 x .056 = $35.33

Now mind you there is one dc fast charger at our dealership that’s free that I’ve used a few times since we don’t have our level 2 installed yet. So at most we spent just over $35 to charge since 4/27. No oil changes.

Our Acadia averaged about 14mpg in town.

2750 / 14 = 196.4 gallons. @ $3.25/g average lately = $638

638-35= 603

Saved $603 in gas and it feels good!
