How to gain muscle with slow COMT?

I read that you are supposed to eat a low protein diet so I am wondering how I can rebuild the muscle that I lost thanks to GERD. I am currently trying to detox from too much estrogen so my detox pathways are probably overtaxed already and for this reason low protein makes sense, but I also really need to gain muscle back or at least not lose any more.

In lieu of a high protein diet, I'm going to try topical Vitamin B-12 and see if I absorb that better than the oral methylcobalamin I've been taking. Just came across this study showing its effect on muscle: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8656801/
