Meditation isn't doing as much as it did

Every time I go to bed, before sleeping, I sit in bed and I meditate to relax myself before actually sleeping. I meditate by just sitting and focusing on my breathing. It used to be that meditation would reeeeaaallly relax me. To the point where I it felt like could just fall asleep right there. But now meditation isnt doing nearly as much as it did. It relaxes me a bit, but not nearly as much as it did before, so then I have a more difficult time falling asleep, and a harder time remembering my dreams. Because from past experiences, I think the quality of my meditation is somewhat tied to my dream recall.

Why isnt meditation doing much for me anymore? How do I make it more effective again?
