Scarf width

Hi all! Looking for honest opinions about a scarf I’m working on for my boyfriend. Is 8 inches too narrow for the width? I’ve seen guidelines saying scarves should be about 10 inches wide, should I start over or is 8 enough? Cat tax for your time
