NCD - 2025 TX 550h+
We picked up our TX 550h+ yesterday and so far we are enjoying putting some miles on. Not the color we had requested when we put a deposit down last March, but happy with the black on black combo still.. Here are a few take aways from the first 100 miles.
V6/eCVT is incredibly quiet and smooth. It is a noticable difference from the 350/500h. We also drove an Acadia Denali with a 4 cylinder and that was very buzzy as well. I wasn't really sure I would love the eCVT, but first impressions are good and we will see over time. This is my wife's car and she has no complaints so far.
EV range with a full battery showed 41 miles this morning. We ended up getting about 25 before it got to zero. This was 55 mph roads in 30 degrees weather so not surprised by a decreased range. Time will tell how this works out but my wife needs about 20-25 miles for her daily commute so we should be good even in winter in Wisconsin. My wife did get 28.5 miles per gallon on the drive home driving in charge mode (gas engine only) as it only had half battery or so at delivery. Getting a 50a outlet and charger installed shortly to improve charging times as well
Overall the car is great, build quality is good with no unusual sounds or issues. Still playing with setting things up and getting it customized.
Paperwork took some time, apparently our region is not supposed to have this car yet so everything had to be manually entered, even in Lexus systems. DMV would not recognize the model either for plates. Our salesperson told us that they are not sure how they got one allocated and the systems are preventing dealer trades on 550h+.
