Neighbour constantly walking dog on my private road, minor damage to vehicle

Hi,

Context - I live on a small private road that's jointly owned by myself and another neighbour. As far as my checks go, it's truly a private road, not maintainable at public expense and everything suggests there's no public right of way.

The road itself is a meager 15-20m long, house on both sides, and a dead end (well, it leads to an electricity sub station (which the electricity board has right of way to) but otherwise it doesn't go anywhere). There are two private road signs on either side of the road so it's unmistakably signposted as being private.

A neighbour from the adjacent street has been walking her dog around the road over the last few months. Whilst annoying, I've just allowed it as she hasn't been causing any bother (when I say allowed it - there has been no actual communication - I just haven't intervened)...

That was until yesterday when I saw her and her dog on my CCTV when her dog jumped front paws first onto my car. After inspecting the car later yesterday there are now scarch marks in the general vicinity where the dog was seen to make contact. This may not be the first time this has happened, but it's the first time I've got/seen it on camera.

What are my options here? I don't necessarily want to press charges for damage although given this (potential damage to my car) is the exact reason I've been annoyed at her walking on my road in the first place I want to put a stop her walking her dog here.

I'm considering having a conversation with her first, however one of my previous neighbours seemed to suggest there was an understanding amongst him and other neighbours (including the dog walkers husband, and so you'd assume the dog walker herself) that my private road wasn't in fact private. So I'm assuming that she's going to argue she's entitled to walk on it forcing me to take further action. But I don't know what that "further action" looks like. Hence this post.
