Why do so many people leave ABS on 11?

I feel like I've seen so many YouTube drivers leave it on max. It almost seems like people don't understand that turning it down benefits trail braking, and braking in general. I can't even get the BMW to turn in unless the brake bias is like 45/55% and the ABS is about 6 where I do my best to use the absolute minimum ABS. If ABS is at 11 it triggers way to soon and prevents the trail braking from turning the car in. Most cars you can get down to about 5-7 on ABS before the tires start to lock up.

Just seems weird to see experienced drivers leave it on max. Or maybe I'm just doing something wrong.
