Laser alignment

Looking for suggestions on how to proceed. I have an old EMMA TTL laser - supposedly 500mw. RGB Color alignment is off. It would be great to re-align them and enjoy the colours as they were intended. I love to tinker with electronics, but have never attempted with lasers that are on. Baring that in mind, I don’t have any practical laser safety training / electronic technician qualifications. How bad of an idea would it be to attempt this, from a safety perspective? Is it much more complicated than loosening, sliding something and tightening a screw, while the lasers are hot ? If I had the PPE (I only assume ) proper laser safety glasses and gloves of sort, is it worth the shot?
