Land Cruiser Prado - Anyone used 3 child seats in row 2?
Much as the title questions, have you or do you know anyone who has used 3 child seats in the second row of a Prado? Currently I have a Nissan Xtrail 2020 but with a third kid on the way I need to swap cars as I cant fit a third seat in it. I’ve done a lot of car research, and I just don’t want to buy an MPV. I’ve been looking at LCs for years, but couldn’t really justify one - but since I need to swap my car now anyway, I’ve looked into getting one again - and I’m currently looking at 2015(ish) LC prados. From what i can see, the row2 bench is wider than the Xtrail so in theory it could take 2 Isofix seats on the outer seat, and 1 belt secured seat in the middle - with the option of using the 2 rear foldouts when the kids get older.
Other reasons I have for the LC are size (boot size), capability and safety. Also, I just do like Landcruisers… so that does factor into it. I’d need to sink about 5k in to the value of my car to upgrade to an LC, and even then it would be one with likely 80-100k on the clock if i want to get an invincible spec (which i kind of do for the added extras, as my xtrail is top spec) - so i do have questions about buying a car with such high mileage (from my experience) as I’ve only ever bought cars with less than 50 on the clock before. My research says that LCs are good for a lot more miles, so it might not be too much of a concern assuming the previous owners have kept the car well maintained.
Other options would be a Volvo Xc90 (though again its debatable whether the seats would fit), a LandRover Discovery 4 or 5 (but they’re known for breaking and i cant risk that really) or a Volkswagen Transporter (but my wife isn’t sold on the idea of getting a bus…)
So, has anyone used 3 child seats in this? I’m based in the UK, if that’s at all relevant.
Edit: Just to clarify, I know the LC doesn’t have 3 isofix in the middle row, this is more of a question re-size of the middle seat. There aren’t any LCs around my area, so to actually physically see one I’d be committing a lot of time and effort to drive somewhere, which I’d only rather do during shopping for one
