No storm caves

Has anyone else had an issue with not being able to enter storm caves? The rift either doesn’t spawn or spawns and just puts me in the sky gliding back down. I’ve circled the mountain over and over again and can’t find anything. Is there something I’m missing? This was yesterday and today. So I’ve restarted quite a few times as well.
