Bad Starter
Hello all, it’s just been a series of unfortunate events with this vehicle.. Figured I’d post this here in case others were experiencing the same thing and wanted to know the cost.
Multiple times yesterday the vehicle was sputtering while trying to start, all electronics in the vehicle were on, but the engine was between .3K - .5K Rpm’s trying to start for at least 5 seconds. Then there was an intermittent phase where it went to around .7K but wasn’t fully on, and once it turned on it went to around 1.2K. This progressively became more frequent over the course of a few months, with it first happening in a one off scenario a few months ago.
Pictured above is the quote from the dealership to replace the starter. The vehicle is out of the bumper-to-bumper warranty period, and it appears that the starter is not covered by the 100k powertrain warranty. I don’t know how frequent of an issue this is with the Telluride, but I wish whoever else currently going through this luck and hope you find this info helpful.
