A third and fourth rail lines are essential for operating and allotting more trains in Kerala. The State government has recently taken up this matter with the Union Railway Minister as part of addressing the travel woes in Kerala. However, the Railway authorities are of the view that the third and fourth lines could be constructed from the Kerala government’s own expenses if it wants more trains immediately to address the travel woes, Sports Minister V. Abdurahiman, who is in charge of the railways in Kerala, has said.
