I'm in the hospital recovering from surgery and last night, I munched on graham crackers and watched 'Jurassic World: Dominion'. Such a fun movie!

I really enjoy how it thematically ties the 6 movies together while exploring the consequences of InGen's generic engineering via the locust swarms disrupting the global food chain.

It was cool seeing Lew Dodgson again as a tech CEO and the Biosyn sanctuary valley is a cool location.

I also like how the film has two subplots, one featuring the Jurassic Park cast and the other featuring the Jurassic World cast and how they come crashing together in the Biosyn valley. It makes Dodgson feel really insidious as a villain. Speaking of, it's cool that Dr. Wu had an unexpected redemption vs getting killed off.

Also, the dinosaurs are SO cool and varied. I like how since Biosyn is cloning dinosaurs without any frog DNA so we get feathered dinosaurs like the Therizinosaurus and Pyroraptor.

I like the big swing regarding varying tone throughout. With Claire evading illegal breeders and Owen facing off against dinosaur poachers, it feels like a Western but then we're in Malta and it feels like a mix between a Bourne and Indiana Jones movie. It makes the film really move and pop visually.

Such a fun, fun movie.

I saw the original as a kid in '93 and years later, it makes me smile that Jurassic movies are still a thing and that they're still fun and funny and thrilling.
