Nishant Jindal Says "Don't Make Notes" – Does This Study Method Actually Work?

I recently came across a study technique suggested by Nishant Jindal, where he advises students not to make notes in the traditional way. Instead, he suggests:

  1. Attend the lecture and actively listen.

  2. Write down only headings while attending.

  3. After the lecture, recall everything based on the headings.

  4. Tear up what you wrote to create a mindset that there is no backup, forcing your brain to remember better.

His reasoning is that this method improves active recall and makes the brain work harder, leading to better retention.

Has anyone tried this approach? Does it actually help with long-term learning, or could it backfire? Would love to hear different perspectives!
