Feeling deflated after consultation
I've been thinking about getting Invisalign for a few months now, followed this community for loads of advise and info online etc. Also mentally preparing myself for the challenge ahead & cost.
I had my initial consultation today, so they had a chat with me, took scans, an x-ray and moulds. My two most important issues are, one tooth sticks out on the top row & overcrowding bottom row.
The ortho was nice but I felt like she wasn't bothered about whichever route I went with (retainers, or fixed braces). She almost was talking me out of both options but moreso Invisalign, making assumptions about my lifestyle (late 20s so I must go out to bars & drink every Fri & Sat, which I do not) explaining people don't wear their retainers enough but I would because it's my personality to do so and the cost is a kick up the arse!!
She estimated three years of treatment, three bloody years!! My teeth aren't in an awful state, she said I have an overbite / overjet which I didn't realise tbh.
I'm due back in a few weeks where she'll go through a few different treatments plans, costs, pros & cons.
I was really looking forward to this and felt hopeful but I feel let down? And I can't commit to three years unfortunately.
I have another consultation next week elsewhere for a scan but they don't do moulds or x-rays.
Any advice here (UK based).
