TGV are too expensive from CH/DE

Am I too cheap to not get why TGV trains booked 3 months in advance cost so much? I'm looking at like 90/150 euros from Freiburg or Zurich. For the same distance this much in advance I get tickets at 30 in Italy and Germany. Also looks like the seats are always limited, can it be that there are too few trains for a city this big? Basically the demand is more than the offer?

The fact that my friend from Rome paid €40 with a flight... 😤
