I'm losing myind

So I was involved in a hit and run on Jan 18th in Charlotte NC and it totaled my car which also happened to be on a car loan. It was a 2015 Ford Taurus sel since then I've filed a claim on my insurance and to this day my company is waiting on a letter of guarantee from my bank. The amount left to pay on the car is 14,100 and my company is giving 9600. I got the car in 2024 around September and lost it in 2025 Jan 18th. Since then I've emailed my adjuster about this and about a higher settlement (MIND you they didn't call me or anything to discuss anything revolving around a settlement) Should I get an attorney or ? I'm lost and I can't stay without a vehicle this long I have 2 jobs and school full time
