Gopalganj | 80-year-old Dalit woman raped, eyes gauged out
On March 14, 2025, in Gopalganj, Bihar, 80-year-old Dalit woman was gang-raped by Chote Alam, Mohd Sayyed Ali, Babbudin, Sahabbuddin, Md Saddam Ali, Hasmat, and Zummaddin during Holi; they gagged her, attempted to gouge her eyes, and left her for dead in a wheat field. She regained consciousness after 19 hours on March 15, narrated the ordeal to her family, who faced casteist slurs from the accused’s kin. Police at Baikunthpur station, led by SHO Abhishek Kumar, booked the six men and arrested one under BNS and SC/ST Act; raids continue for others.
