How Difficult Is It to Get Local Politicians to Support a New Business?

I’m planning to start a business in India and was wondering how much of a role local politicians (MLAs, councillors, MPs, etc.) play in supporting new businesses?

Has anyone here successfully gained political support for their business?

• What kind of help (if any) can they provide—faster approvals, connections, funding, or visibility?
• Does political backing actually make a difference, or is it better to stay independent?
