“The Good Part” by Sophie Cousens
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book! Lucy is 26, living near London, in a grotty flat - the upstairs apartment leaks on her bed - working in TV and hating every single moment. After a long night, when she realizes that her friends are all moving faster toward their ambitions than she is, Lucy encounters a wishing machine and asks to be moved to “the good part” of her life, where everything is figured out. She wakes up 14 years older, in a gorgeous home with a toddler, a seven-year-old, and a husband. Now, after Lucy’s stay in “the good part”, she has to decide whether she should find the wishing machine and return to her single life.
