Career break

Hi all, I qualified last September and got promoted to Assistant manager, I’ve been in audit since September 2021 in London, not big 4 but a tier-1 firm

Im thinking of putting in my notice in February, without a job lined up, taking a 4-5 month career break to go travelling and then coming back and applying for jobs

Would this be fine do you think? My parents are saying I should have a job lined up before I quit, but this would be difficult as I have a 3 month notice period, plus I want to take 4 months out, so I would have to ask any employers if I can start in 7 months, which seems unlikely

As the job market doesn’t look good, should I postpone this career break, and go straight into another job?

I am worried I will come back from the career break and be unable to find a job / recruiters will question the 4-5 month break on my CV

I’ve thought about taking a break and coming back to the same employer but I really can’t handle it anymore, and have had enough of audit. I would just go straight into another job usually, but I really want to take this career break, which means I need to leave with nothing lined up

Edit: I do have enough savings to be out of work for a couple years, I have a mortgage and I am renting out the spareroom which covers my costs at the moment
