Just bought a brand new 2024 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid & it already left me stranded!! Needs a major repair & they offered NO loaner for over a week!

Hey Reddit,

Looking to see if anyone has had similar experiences with Hyundai and hoping to get some advice.

Just picked up a brand new 2024 Hyundai Sonata Limited Hybrid (~1,000 miles) at the end of May and last week while driving it threw a critical engine alert ("Check Hybrid Engine - Battery Management System Problem"). The car lost power and died on me, leaving me stranded on the side of the road.

Had the car towed to Camelback Hyundai in Phoenix and while they finally provided a loaner car yesterday (after a week of me having to rent my own), the initial service experience was a joke. They mentioned a backlog and the diagnosis could take another week, with no guarantee on how long repairs might take after that. (I’ve heard them saying “months” very casually for a hybrid battery)!

This is completely unacceptable for a brand new car! To top it off, they didn't even have a loaner for me for the first week, which left me scrambling for alternative transportation.

Feeling frustrated and wondering if anyone else has had similar issues with Hyundai service or new car problems. Also, any advice on how to proceed from here would be greatly appreciated. Should I be pushing for a lemon law case or is there something else I can do?

Thanks!
