Why is it so hard to get an IV????!

HI there, I am currently recording a podcast where I interview women that had HG. Today I was talking with a mom that had 4 HG pregnancies. At some point we ended up discussing the topic of why it is so freaking difficult to get an IV when your pregnant. And I do not mean like getting an IV at the ER and paying 15k+. Like why is it so difficult to just have a doctor giving you an IV, or even having an affordable IV homecare.

I live in Florida, so maybe it is only difficult in my state. Has anybody here managed to get home care IV fluids, or an IV from your doctor, and if yes, how did you do it?
