Collecting is painfully hard in some countries/regions
Hi, I am here to speak up for all my fellows who find it unbelievably hard to collect HW. I live in a small European country called Croatia and I envy every Japanese/German/Canadian/US etc. collector because collecting over here feels almost impossible. I’ve seen many Americans complain about their local Walmarts or Targets lacking latest HW cases but at least your stores actually sell them. Here, only a few stores sell the mainlines, with the average price being about 2€ (2.08$). I wish I’m making this up, but my local store is still rocking the 2024 G case…. And I better don’t even start talking about the premiums. I have never in my 3.5 years of collecting seen them in any store other than Müller which is not a common store at all (only 2 stores in 70km/43mi radius away from me). Even when I end up in a Müller store, there’s always only 3-5 of them and ofcourse it’s the most unwanted ones. Oh yeah, and I forgot to mention that they cost 13€ (13.5$) here which already sounds depressing but is even worse when you realize the average wage in the US is 4.75x bigger than here. I can’t even shop online from US/Japanese sites because it will always be 60-70$ of shipping for a 20-30$ worth of Hot Wheels. And ofcourse we don’t have the Walmart/Kroger/… exclusives. I understand there are places where it’s even harder to pursue this hobby, but I just wanted to say that you guys should be grateful for your Walmarts and other stores because ours look like this!
